Mother-Daughter Safari

So I'm finally writing a post about my recent trip to Namibia. It was a mother-daugther trip with five of us: my mom, my sister, my mom's friend Gayle, her daughter Taryn, and me. It was a once in a lifetime experience and something I'll never forget!

We had an amazing guide named Derek from Blue Crane Safaris who took care of us every step of the way. He put up with our insanity and the reputation we earned at every lodge we stayed at, most learning within the first few hours that gin and tonics were the poison of choice for most of us. We definitely had fun!

Getting to see animals in the wild was incredible. I never knew how ballsy and hilarious jackals are, which is why they're my new favourite animal, or how much personality elephants can have. Seeing two male lions chase off a pair of lioness sisters, watching two oryx fighting, almost hitting two diferent rhinos while driving (one even mock charged us before running off), and hearing the "Meh" noise from the Go Away bird are things that are hard to properly describe.

If I ever have the chance, I would definitely do it again!
